History of a Chapel on Swan’s Trail

I have met several people who have themselves or had family members involved with the Chapel in the early days. I have heard some great stories.

Oslo Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church had its first service in 1916 and was renamed Swan’s Trail Evangelical Lutheran in 1936. The original congregation now meets on the other side of the old parsonage, and has since 1965, at Good Shepherd Lutheran.

From 1965 until 1989, the Church was used for many things: a community day-care and also the home of a Seattle artist and his family. They lived in the parsonage and had his work-shop and gallery in the Church.

Good Shepherd Lutheran sold the original Chapel in 1989 and I acquired it in 2006. I established a residence at the back of the property and set to work forming it into a great family place to gather, making it available for events and weddings.

Everyone is welcome to come and visit; an Open House is held every Wednesday, except during the months of November and December, from 6-8pm. Please call to make an appointment for a personal tour during other times. I look forward to greeting you soon!
